NextPatient has a new look
Trusted by 8,000+ providers
NextPatient is patient engagement software built for busy specialty practices. Booking, waitlist, reminders, payments, and voice AI customized to your practice's unique workflows.
Integrated with AdvancedMD, athenahealth, DrChrono, ModMed, Nextech, NextGen, and Veradigm.
Too many vendors to juggle
Every one of them connects to your practice management system separately. Every one of them keeps its own copy of your scheduling rules. When a provider leaves or a location changes its hours, you update them one at a time — and the one you forget is the one that books a patient wrong.
AI, Built in
A standalone voice agent connects to your EHR and rebuilds a version of your scheduling rules on its own side. That's a second system to configure, and a second one to keep in sync. Our built-in AI is just that — built in.
Right now those rules live in two places: templated in your practice management system, and memorized by whoever has worked your front desk longest. NextPatient already reads them for online booking. The voice agent uses the same ones — same endpoints, same mapping, just a different way in.
It recognizes the phone number of the patient calling, knows what they're due for, and when they were last in. It's answering with the history, the appointments, and the preferences your practice already gave us.
A deposit at booking, a card on file, a no-show fee. The agent can handle payment because NextPatient already runs your payments. A voice vendor that only answers the phone has nothing to charge against.
Patients talk. The worst thing automation can do is make someone feel handled. Resolve the request or get them a person — but never strand them in between.
The 24-hour reschedule window still holds. No-show fees still apply. If new patients and referrals can't reschedule themselves online, they can't by voice either. Everything you've configured stays configured.
The rest of the platform
Almost nobody arrives shopping for a patient engagement platform. You’re here because your scheduling is broken or because the phone won't stop. The waitlist, the reviews, the check-in — those come later, when they're needed. You don't have to buy all of it to start.
Proof

Built for your specialty
A Mohs surgery and a cosmetic consult aren't the same appointment. Neither are a retina follow-up and a routine refraction. NextPatient is configured to your visit types, your providers, and your locations — which is why practices with the most complicated schedules are the ones NextPatient helps most.
Works with your EHR
NextPatient reads and writes to your practice management system in real time — availability, appointments, patient records. Your schedule stays in one place, and it's right the moment it changes.
This is also why NextPatient AI works the way it does. It's reading the same schedule your front desk is looking at.

FAQ
What is NextPatient?
NextPatient is a patient engagement platform for independent medical practices. It provides online self-scheduling, an automated waitlist, appointment reminders, two-way texting, digital check-in, payments and recalls — all integrated with the practice's existing EHR. Voice and chat AI are being built into the same platform.
Who is NextPatient for?
NextPatient is built for multi-location specialty practices — dermatology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology, gastroenterology, OBGYN, otolaryngology, allergy, podiatry, pain management, and urgent care. Most practices using it have between 7 and 25 providers, though it runs at groups from a single office up to more than 300 providers.
Which EHRs does NextPatient integrate with?
NextPatient has bi-directional integrations with AdvancedMD, athenahealth, DrChrono, ModMed, Nextech, NextGen, and Veradigm. The integration reads your appointment templates and live availability and writes booked appointments straight back into your system, so your staff keeps working in the EHR they already use rather than learning a second one.
How much does NextPatient cost?
NextPatient is priced per provider, per month, as a flat monthly subscription — the price doesn't change with how many appointments get booked. For some specialties, including urgent care, pricing can be per location instead.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation takes three to four weeks from signing to go-live, and smaller practices are often live in 10 business days. Your team's part is two or three meetings: your dedicated account manager gathers your scheduling requirements, builds the configuration, and confirms it with you before anything goes live.
Does NextPatient have voice AI?
Yes, NextPatient has voice AI and chat AI is coming soon. Voice AI runs on the same scheduling rules that already govern your online booking, so there's no second configuration to maintain — which is the main difference between NextPatient and a standalone voice AI vendor, whose agent has to rebuild your rules inside its own system.
How does NextPatient approach customer support?
Every NextPatient practice gets a dedicated, regionally based Customer Success Manager who knows your practice, your EHR setup, and your team. There's no ticketing queue and no offshore call center: our entire team is based in the U.S., and when you need help, you go straight to a person who already understands your account. That means faster answers, training tailored to how your practice actually runs, and a partner who stays with you long after go-live.
